Manjarite Island

Strange name and not many boat providers bring their guests to this place. Manjarite Island is about an hour from Labuan Bajo and its position is close to Rinca Island. There is a small wooden pier there. The island is uninhabited, and there is a clear, greenish shallow beach, with a depth of about 3-5 meters. Shallow water with minimum waves, making this location a perfect spot for easy snorkeling or relaxing on the boat, enjoying the scenery while our crew prepares lunch and refreshments. From the top, you can see the bottom full of various colorful fishes such as clownfish, scorpionfish, angelfish and even blue ribbon eels.

Manjarite Island is an inhabitant island within Komodo National Park. It is one of the perfect snorkeling spots. The beautiful beach combines white sandy beaches and crystal clear water make this place become the favorite destination.

There is a small and long wooden pier there, almost 300 meters long. The beach is uninhabited and privately owned by multinational hotel corporate. If you love taking pictures, a long wooden jetty is the best place. You can also jump down the water from the jetty. One of the best places to hang out on your Komodo holiday trip.

The island is not so touristic, so you are free to explore the snorkeling area the longer you can. Colorful fish such as dory fish and angelfish are found here. You will also find beautiful untouched corals.

Manjarite Island is close to mainland Flores Island. It takes abour 35-40 minutes by boat from Labuan Bajo, depending on the sea condition. A reminder that there are no flights going direct to the island. So you need to get on boat from Labuan Bajo to the island.

There are no accomodations or restaurants on the island at the moment. All you need to do is stay in Labuan Bajo. Elsewhere, the liveaboard Phinisi boat provides rooms and meals. If you join the one day tour, the boat company will provide lunch for you. So you don’t need to worry when you expect to do a 2 or 3 day tour. Always make sure that the company you book includes meals.

Since there were no facilities currently at Manjarite, if you are planning to snorkeling. You have to make sure that you rent or bring the snorkeling equipment from the Labuan Bajo.
